Welcome to the Monroe Street Fine Arts Center Art Program page! I am Beth Jesion, the Lead Art Teacher, and Art Program Assistant at MSFAC.  I’ve ventured into the blogging world to be the eyes and ears at the art center for the digital world. Things at MSFAC seem to happen so fast; sometimes it's all a blur of wonderful color. This is a good place to sort it all out.

I’m here to show you all the great things we do as well as keep you informed about art classes, art shows, and special things happening at MSFAC.

The month of April is printmaking with the Afterschool Art kids…and they are making some pretty neat stuff.  Printmaking is especially cool because the kids

are not sure what their projects will look like until the very end. So they are very excited once they pull the first print. Those “whhoooaa”s and “cooool”s are what make teaching so fantastic!

Coincidentally, we did some printmaking in the Homeschool Art classes, too. Here’s an adorable print with a rabbit, named “Fiver” by 6-year-old Axel Heiden:

During May, Afterschool Art will be doing Sculpture/Mixed Media, which is always a blast.  You can sign up or check out this, or other MSFAC art classes here.

Here’s to a new venture for MSFAC in the digital world, and a new outlet for the MSFAC art program!

Stay tuned for more of the interesting stuff happening at MSFAC!
Beth

P.S. Look for the next month's entry…We received our grant! Hear all about it!
